Hitting Rock Bottom
was only the beginning of new lows,
A welcoming of unfamiliar woes,
Rock Bottom
only meant bring in the heavy equipment
and dynamite
For surely a drowning soul can go deeper
I was ever hopeful of discovering “hurts”
unexplored horizons,
Rock Bottom,
Ba humbug I said!
Where are the black holes I asked?
The oblivions of yesteryear ensured me
darker depths existed,
Rock Bottom.
I am still searching though
18 years into a 45 year prison sentence
has helped comfort the fall,
as I’ve groveled and crawled
on the concrete floor
I have learned,
Rock Bottom
Only means finding God
And nothing more
