AA Behind Bars_Christine_Dec 2018

I am grateful for the weather so beautiful, it changes with every season. How it’s so beautiful in the summer, fall, winter and spring. I came to prison in June, the hot time of year. It was my first time in prison being sober. How grateful I am for that! Also, each day as I worked at the culinary at 3:00 am I saw so many different sunrises. The mountains, the clouds, now it is getting cold outside and I’m thankful for that. It has just reminded me how much I do appreciate the small things and how much I have changed. How grateful I am to be like the weather, always changing, growing through all the different things around me. How even being in Prison locked up, I feel so free. -Christine

  1. Came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore my sanity. Began believing this on Jan. 5, 1989 and have not touched a drop of alcohol since then. I celebrated my 30th birthday recently and have a heart full of thanks and gratitude to my higher power.

  2. Just celebrated my 30th birthday on Jan. 5, 2019. On Jan. 5, 1989 I came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore my sanity. Thanks to the Big Book and the 12 steps, they were my crutch until I could walk on my own again. I own a successful business, am happily married and have 13 grandchildren, what a difference from the hell I lived in 31 years ago.
